The City of Merida
Founded in 1542 by Francisco de Montejo the younger, Merida is today a cosmopolitan city, which still conserves its colonial athmosphere and the majestuosity of its buildings.
Who visits Merida enters a different world, full of romanticism, culture and history.In Merida, there are beautiful buildings, such as the Main Square, The Cathedral, the Governor's Palace, the Church of the Nuns, the suburbs of Saint James, Saint John, Saint Stephen, Saint Cristopher, Saint Anne, the Mejorada Square, and the Church of Saint Elizabeth, that reminds us the ancient times of the colony.
